James Cook

I am a Partner in the Private Client team at Russell Cooke LLP. I am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and I specialise in estate and succession planning, wills, probate, trusts, tax-planning, lasting powers of attorney, enduring powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters. My work often includes international elements whereby I advise both UK and non-UK clients.

A particular passion of mine is philanthropy and assisting clients and their families to meet their philanthropic objectives. I have been a trustee of a free legal advice charity for nearly 15 years and I understand the importance of obtaining good technical and practical advice for clients as well as charities themselves.

I have worked with charities (large and small) in respect of their legal requirements around legacies, and increasingly I am asked to assist with their strategy and approach to engage with donors and attract philanthropic giving with high net worth clients.
