John Hay

John Hay is the Head of Information Security at Net Defence and joined the company in 2018, bringing over 20 years of experience to the role.

A big hit with the company’s clients, John has an innate ability to explain complex IT products and processes in simple, understandable language, helping educate businesses on how to protect their networks. This has helped several organisations with their Information Security, GDPR, and Data Protection journey.

At Net Defence, John is an Ethical Hacker, using the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker but lawfully and legitimately. During this process John assesses the security of computer systems, looking for weaknesses and vulnerabilities to inform businesses of the next steps to take in their cyber security plan.
